Bulky Item Collection
Bulky items are oversized or overweight household articles that do not fit in your trash cart or may need special handling (e.g., stoves, water heaters, washers, dryers, televisions, computers, furniture, etc.).
City of Thousand Oaks residents may request up to two free bulky item collections for a total of six items picked up per calendar year. Residents who live in the unincorporated area should contact the County of Ventura.
HOW TO SCHEDULE:
To schedule a bulky item collection, submit an online request or call Athens Services at (805) 852-5264.
Items not accepted:
- Automobile parts
- Construction debris (e.g., dirt, concrete, tile, drywall, rock) – visit our construction and demolition page here to properly dispose of these items.
- Hazardous waste (e.g., antifreeze, automotive fluids, cleaning products, gas cylinders, pesticides, paint, pharmaceuticals, pool chemicals, solvents) – visit our HHW page here to dispose of hazardous material.
- Loose or scattered building materials/lumber
