Submit the following (in PDF format) for a commercial submittal for an Electric Vehicle Charging Station Permit:
- A site plan prepared by a CA licensed architect or civil/ structural engineer showing the proposed location of charging station(s) and their accessibility requirements as per the 2022 California Building Code.
- Electrical Plans prepared by either a California Licensed Electrical Engineer or Contractor.
- A completed Building Permit and Electrical permit application which can be found here.
- Submit the application via the TO/24 website with PDF formats of all completed forms and applications. Alternatively, you may submit the application in person at the public counter.
We will let you know if any additional information is required. After the plan check is completed and the application approved, we will contact you about payment of permit fees and issuance of the permit.
In most cases, only an Electrical Permit is needed for a new residential installation of an Electrical Vehicle Charging Station. Have an electrician evaluate your needs.
- Fill out an electrical permit application and save the application in PDF format on your computer.
- Prepare an electrical load calculation, if needed, and save it in PDF format (see worksheet).
- Submit the application via the TO/24 website with PDF formats of all completed forms and applications. Alternatively, you may submit the application in person at the public counter.
