Reminder: Tips for Verifying City of Thousand Oaks Emails
To help protect your information, please take a moment to verify any invoice or message you receive:
- Check the email domain: Official City emails come only from @toaks.gov. Be cautious of unfamiliar or misspelled domains such as @usa.com.
- Verify payment methods: The City does not accept permit payments via wire transfer, peer‑to‑peer apps (Venmo, CashApp, Zelle), or cryptocurrency.
- Confirm the request: If you receive an invoice you weren’t expecting, or believe an email to be fraudulent, do not reply to the email. Instead, contact the issuing department directly to confirm any balance due:
- Community Development Department: (805) 449‑2500
- Public Works Department: (805) 449‑2400
