Responsible Waste Disposal
The City of Thousand Oaks operates a permanent, state-of-the-art Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility, open to residents of Thousand Oaks & unincorporated Ventura County (e.g. Lake Sherwood, Santa Rosa Valley, El Rio, Saticoy, Piru).
Leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients are considered “Household Hazardous Materials” or “HHW.” Products such as cleaners, oils, batteries, fluorescent lights, and pesticides require special care when disposed of. For information about non-hazardous waste, visit Athens Services What Goes Where Recycling Guide to find out what waste items go where.
