Climate and Environmental Action Plan

The City’s Climate and Environmental Action Plan (CEAP), adopted on May 7, 2024, is a framework for building a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient future. The CEAP identifies strategies and actions the City will pursue to reduce community greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, expand environmental benefits, and prepare for climate impacts, such as extreme heat, water stress, and more intense storm events.

Just as importantly, CEAP sections go beyond GHG reductions. They advance sustainability through actions related to transportation, waste, water, urban forests and habitat, air quality, local economic development, increasing local resilience, and improving public health.

OUR EMISSIONS TARGETS

  1. 42% reduction in GHG emissions relative to 2010 by 2030
  2. 85% reduction in GHG emissions relative to 2010 by 2045
