Council on Aging

The Council on Aging makes recommendations to City Council on matters of concern to older adults.

Membership: 9 members


Term: 2 years, rotating. Two term limit.


Qualifications: City residency; must be 60 years of age or older

Two vacancies will be recruited for in 2025.


Notice: The City of Thousand Oaks has two representatives on the Ventura County Human Services Agency Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) Advisory Council (www.vcaaa.org). The representatives are elected by the Council on Aging and confirmed by City Council. The election to fill two scheduled vacancies with two-year terms to June 30, 2027, will take place at the regularly scheduled Council on Aging meeting on May 1, 2025 at 1pm. The meeting agenda will be posted at www.toaks.gov/agendas within 72 hours of the meeting.
