Building Division


The Building Division protects the public against hazards associated with the construction, use, and occupancy of buildings and structures and contributes to the City’s quality of life. 

This Division ensures the City's built environment complies with codes designed to safeguard public welfare, such as life, health, and property. Residents can be assured the highest level of plan review and inspection services are provided to our customers. Staff is committed to protecting residents and their property by enforcing building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical standards. In addition, the City oversees state-mandated requirements that regulate design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all buildings and structures within our jurisdiction.

Permit types include but are not limited to:

  1. Replacement of water heaters and plumbing fixtures such as toilets and sinks
  2. Repair or replacement of gas, water, or sewer lines
  3. Replacement of electric services up to and including 200 amps
  4. Minor electrical work, such as adding outlets, switches, or light fixtures
  5. Installation or replacement of furnaces and HVAC units in existing dwellings
  6. For A/C installation/changeout, you must submit a site plan showing the equipment location with lot dimensions and unit distance from property line.
  7. Small Solar PV with plans, specifications, and calculations, if needed.
  8. EV Charging Station


The Building Division will attempt to process the permit for the application types listed above as soon as possible, provided the request is received during regular business hours.

Public Counter Hours

Monday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Alternating Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
