Are you ready to replace your older loud gas-powered leaf blower and lawn mower? If you answered yes, then now is the time to take advantage of the new offer just announced by the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (VCAPCD).

Starting October 1, 2024, Ventura County residents, commercial landscaping businesses, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, public schools, and school districts are eligible to apply for a voucher towards new electric lawn and garden equipment in exchange for surrendering their old, gas-powered models. Funding is limited, with $1 million in total funding available. There is $500,000 each for the residential and commercial programs. Take advantage of the limited vouchers now!

Maximum voucher amounts are included in the table below.

Participants in the Lawn and Garden Equipment Exchange (L&GE) program must use the new electric equipment for a minimum of 36 months and currently own and operate gasoline or diesel landscaping equipment. In addition, the equipment traded in must serve the same function. For example, a gasoline-powered blower needs to be replaced with a zero-emission blower. Up to two batteries and a charging device can also be funded as part of the L&GE purchase in addition to taxes and fees.

A few key things to remember:

  1. Equipment surrendered must be in working condition.
  2. Equipment purchased before the voucher issuance is not eligible for reimbursement.
  3. Equipment must be purchased through a participating retailer.
