Youth Commission Seeks Students to Help with Tree Planting Project

The Thousand Oaks Youth Commission is looking for students in grades 7-12 to help plant trees in Thousand Oaks.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the City of Thousand Oaks Youth Commission is teaming up with the City's Public Works Department for a Youth Tree Planting event from 8 - 10:30 a.m. on the corner of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Via Merida. The Youth Commission invites students in grades 7-12 to join them in rolling up their sleeves and help plant the roots for a greener Thousand Oaks. 6th grade students and younger are welcome, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What You Need to Join
All participants must submit a signed waiver. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian signature is required. Waivers are available at toaks.gov/youth and can be emailed to youthcommission@toaks.gov or turned in the morning of the event.
What to Wear
- Closed-toe shoes
- Long pants
- Layers for the weather
- Optional: Gloves and a hat
