This September, the Thousand Oaks Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the nation in celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, highlighting the library card as the ultimate back-to-school essential.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., September 3, 2025— This September, the Thousand Oaks Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the nation in celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, highlighting the library card as the ultimate back-to-school essential. For parents, caregivers, and students, signing up for a library card is the first step toward academic success, personal growth, and lifelong learning.


A Thousand Oaks Library card is more than just a piece of plastic—it’s a key to books, movies, music, technology, programs, and so much more. It’s a passport to learning, entertainment, and community connection.
