Free Landfill Day is Coming July 19th

Load up your excess trash, bulky items, and landscape waste and bring them to the Calabasas Landfill for Free Landfill Day on Saturday, July 19th!
Do you need to dispose of waste debris from a DIY project? Have unwanted bulky items or excess trash? Trimming your trees, shrubs, or removing turf? Load up your waste items and bring them to the Calabasas Landfill for Free Landfill Day on Saturday, July 19th!
This popular event gives Thousand Oaks residents an opportunity to drop off excess trash, yard waste, bulky items, and more, free of charge from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Calabasas Landfill located at 5300 Lost Hills Road, Agoura Hills 91301.
The event is open to Thousand Oaks residents who are current Athens Services customers; a valid I.D. or utility bill is required for proof of residency. The following is a list of acceptable and unacceptable waste items for the event:
Accepted
- Household Trash
- Appliances
- Tires (limit 5, no rims)
- Construction and demolition materials
- Wood waste and green waste
- Uncontaminated dirt/soil
- Clean asphalt and concrete
NOT accepted
- Hazardous materials
- Electronic waste (TVs, computers, cell phones, etc.)
- Fluorescent light tubes and ballasts
- Liquids and water-soluble solids
- Biological/medical waste/sharps
- Auto bodies
- Commercial or landscaping company waste
No trailers, commercial vehicles, or commercial waste will be accepted, nor will waste materials from landscaping companies. Residents can bring up to two loads per event, using a vehicle no larger than a five (5) passenger automobile or a pickup truck. All loads are subject to inspection, and open loads must be tarped for transportation per California State law.
Hazardous waste, electronic waste, business waste, and medical waste will not be accepted. To dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW), visit toaks.gov/hhw and schedule an appointment to drop off at the City’s HHW facility, or click HERE to schedule a free home collection.
The event ends promptly at 1:00 p.m., and there is no late entry. The event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
