The Thousand Oaks Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program offers free individual and neighborhood emergency preparedness training. Thousand Oaks CERT is a joint effort between the City of Thousand Oaks and the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD).

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Feb 20, 2024 - The Thousand Oaks Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program offers free individual and neighborhood emergency preparedness training. Thousand Oaks CERT is a joint effort between the City of Thousand Oaks and the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD).
VCFD will provide instructors for in-person classroom training at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza starting April 24, for six consecutive Wednesdays from 6:00-9:30 pm, and concludes on May 29. The skills taught in this six-week course provide critical support to individuals families, neighbors, and the community immediately following an emergency incident.
Following the conclusion of classes, a final drill will be scheduled for CERT graduates at the Ventura County Fire Headquarters in Camarillo. This program is provided at no cost and is open to Ventura County residents 18 years and older. Persons interested in attending this in-person course are encouraged to visit toaks.gov/cert.
