For the 37th year, the City of Thousand Oaks will celebrate National Public Works Week from May 19-25, 2024 to honor the tens of thousands of men and women who provide and maintain the essential infrastructure and services collectively known as Public Works.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., April 3, 2024 - For the 37th year, the City of Thousand Oaks will celebrate National Public Works Week from May 19-25, 2024 to honor the tens of thousands of men and women who provide and maintain the essential infrastructure and services collectively known as Public Works.
The City of Thousand Oaks was recognized by the American Public Works Association in November 2010 as an Accredited Public Works Agency and has maintained accreditation since then. This year’s National Public Works Week theme, “Advancing Quality of Life for All”, illustrates how public works professionals contribute to and enhance the quality of life in all the communities they proudly serve.
During Public Works Week, the City will host guided tours at the Municipal Service Center to educate the Conejo Valley and surrounding cities’ youth and adults on how Public Works provides service to the community. The two-day event will include demonstrations on tree maintenance, graffiti removal, street repair, water conservation, recycling, bicycle safety, water operations, and wastewater collection. Highlights include a bus ride through a car wash and demonstrations of a landscape aerial lift and various other pieces of heavy equipment.
Guided tours will be held on Tuesday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Municipal Service Center located at 1993 Rancho Conejo Boulevard. Individual and group tours may be scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.
