PW Pump Stations

Improvements at Pederson and Willow Lane Pump Stations

The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of existing roof systems, fencing sections, and access gates, as well as the removal and replacement of asphalt pavement. Additional tasks include concrete work, installation of a chemical tank with canopy, two permanent boosting systems, small piping, and all necessary improvements to ensure the system's complete installation and operation at both Pederson and Willow Lane Pump Stations.

The project will run from February 10, 2025 through December 2025.

Budget/Funding:

A construction contract has been awarded to J.R. Filanc Construction Company, Inc. from Escondido, CA in the amount of $1,517,000. The Project was funded in the Adopted FY 2023-25 Water Fund Capital Budget.

Project Impacts

Residents near the Pederson Pump Station (1551 Pederson Rd.) and Willow Pump Station (385 Conejo Ridge) in Thousand Oaks will be affected. Pederson Road will experience partial lane closures during the delivery and installation of a new driveway to the reservoir and pump stations.

Water Service:

No water shutdowns are expected during construction. However, if any shutdown becomes necessary, residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.

Project Benefits

The proposed improvements include the installation of permanent disinfection-boosting systems at both the Pederson and Willow Lane Pump Stations, ensuring consistent water quality and enhanced operational efficiency.

  1. Pederson Pump Station: Key improvements include widening the access gate and driveway to improve operational access, as well as implementing fire-hardening measures to protect the site from wildfire risks.
  2. Willow Lane Pump Station: Roof enhancements will address structural needs, ensuring long-term reliability and improving the site’s resilience to wildfires.
