LEV Pump Stations

Improvements at Lone Oak, Erbes Road, and Ventu Pump Stations

This project involves the complete removal and replacement of existing roof systems, a section of CMU block wall, and various infrastructure components. Key tasks include the installation of new fencing, access gates, and valve replacements, as well as the replacement of asphalt pavement and concrete. Additional work includes the relocation of antenna poles, upgrades to electrical and communication systems, SCADA integration, and the installation of two new standby diesel generators. Other improvements will include replacing the existing switchboard, installing variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), sub-base fuel tanks, sound attenuating enclosures, and appurtenances. All work is aimed at ensuring the efficient installation and operation of the system.

The Project timeline will run from February 10, 2025 through July 2026.

Budget/Funding:

A construction contract has been awarded to Pacific Hydrotech Corporation in the amount of $3,065,600. The project was funded in the Adopted FY 2024-25 Water Fund Capital Budget.

Project Impacts

Traffic Impact:

Partial lane closures will occur on Lone Oak Drive and Kathlene Drive during the delivery and replacement of fencing at the pump stations.

Water Service:

No water shutdowns are anticipated during construction. However, if any shutdown becomes necessary, residents will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.

Project Benefits

The installation of emergency generators at Lone Oak and Erbes Road Pump Stations will ensure continuous operation during power outages, maintaining water service during wildfires and other emergencies. Additionally, the electrical upgrade at Ventu Pump Station will improve system reliability and bring the facility up to current standards.

  1. Lone Oak Pump Station: A new emergency generator, enhanced roof design with improved maintenance access, and fire-hardening measures will increase site resilience against wildfires and ensure reliable operations during emergencies.
  2. Erbes Road Pump Station: A new canopy for surge tanks and pumps, roof replacement, fire-hardening measures, and a new emergency generator will guarantee operational continuity during power outages.
  3. Ventu Park Pump Station: Electrical system upgrades, fire-hardening measures, and improved fencing will enhance reliability, security, and overall system resilience.
