The work includes surface preparation and painting of all traffic signal poles, street light poles, mast arms, signal heads, luminaire arms, safety lighting housings, pedestrian button housings, back plates and cabinets at 7 street intersections.
This project involves surface preparation and painting of all traffic signal poles, street light poles, mast arms, signal heads, luminaire arms, safety lighting housings, pedestrian button housings, back plates, and cabinets across seven street intersections. Additionally, the project includes the installation of retroreflective borders on the existing traffic signal heads at three of the seven intersections.
The construction of these improvements will happen during the night-time hours between 10:00 pm to 6:00 am and day-time hours between 7:00 am to 3:00 pm (Monday thru Friday). There will be some temporary impacts on vehicular traffic during the night-time construction activities, including partial lane closures. The night-time work will minimize impacts to motorists, and pedestrians and also provide greater overall safety.
Budget/Funding
The City is in the process of awarding the construction contract to Streetlight Restoration Specialists, Inc., Camarillo, CA, in the amount of $86,398.00. This project is funded by the City’s Lighting Fund.
Project Benefits
The benefits of this project include restoring and extending the lifespan of key infrastructure through painting and preventive maintenance. This will be part of an ongoing program over the next several years.
